Entrepreneurs Dion DeLoof and James Yeagle started Anteo Group in 2002 after more than a decade of success in the technology staffing industry in the US and in Europe. In 2002, while most staff augmentation companies were cutting back their internal staff and smaller companies in the industry were struggling to stay in business, they left the status quo for entrepreneurship. They felt strongly that there was an opportunity to offer a unique solution to clients in need of top technical talent. After considering various financing options to start Anteo Group, James and Dion took a leap of faith and elected to finance the company primarily themselves.
The early days of the company started with Dion and James. In the spirit of a garage start-up, the partners set up shop in Dion’s tiny guest bedroom with just an Atlanta Business Chronicle and a phone book. Growth was quick enough to move the company to a funky art deco style office space in Atlanta’s re-emerging Midtown corridor by mid-2002. In three years, Anteo Group would grow from an ambitious start-up into a successful and well-respected specialty recruiting and consulting firm.
In 2003, the UK office opened in Central London and is currently located near the Barbican tube stop just down from St. Paul's Cathedral. The US/UK cross over is an important part of Anteo Group’s success and certainly their culture as team members are trained overseas as well in as their home office.
In 2004, Anteo Group formally started TeamAnteo, an ongoing community involvement campaign. While the company participates with and donates to several community organizations, currently, Anteo Group’s primary cause is Kate’s Club which is a non-profit organization that empowers children and teens facing life after the death of a parent or sibling. In 2005, the Atlanta office of Anteo Group relocated down the street to Promenade Two, a symbol of the company’s transition from boutique to a Fortune 5000 consulting firm. Although they have reached over $25 million in sales, the team maintains the distinct culture of a close knit, hard-working start-up, proud of its accomplishments and grateful for its community of employees, clients and consultants.
As a technical professional who has both looked for jobs and been responsible for hiring people, I have seen many types of agencies. There are the ones who throw a bunch of resumes at clients; those who try to sell candidates like a used car and those who build relationships on both sides and do what it takes to get the job done while doing the right thing. Anteo strives for the latter.
